Garden Pictures April 2017

Garden pictures about a month after spring planting

Here are more garden pictures for your enjoyment.  The progress is delightful as everything is growing rapidly.  God blessed us with good rain (without flooding) and no late freezes this year, so we expect a fabulous summer jungle.  We took these pictures during the potato harvest.  We planted 30 pounds (4 days before giving birth to our sixth child) and harvested 185 pounds.  Considering the area that we planted, the yield was about one pound per square foot! We also harvested our onions. We lost many of the white onions to some cold weather in January, but the red onions look beautiful. The last lettuce bed looks like a crazy mess, but it’s about to come out and be replaced with green beans.  Click here to see more great pictures.
